My project was to design and teach the dance program at Gateway Preparatory Academy. Creating this program enabled students to learn other core subjects through movement, in addition to having another art opportunity to learn through. I believe that every school should give the option of taking a dance class, because it's a means of building self-confidence and awareness in those students who so desperately need to succeed. Since dance is a means of expression, there is not a wrong or right way to achieve it allowing all individuals to succeed in some aspect.
